Title: Nister's Holiday Annual

Editor: Alfred J. Fuller

Publisher: Ermest Nister (London): E.P. Dutton & Co. (New York)

Nister’s Holiday Annual was first published in London in 1888. Intended for the moral instruction and amusement of children, it contained short stories, poetry, activities, and sometimes historical or biological information. It ran until 1914 and possibly into the 1920s. Though a reliable list of editors of the Holiday Annual does not exist, some include Robert Ellice [or Ellis] Mack (1889-1896 or later), Alfred J. Fuller (as late as 1896-possibly 1904), and Alfred C. Playne (1906-1910 or later). Well-known children’s writer Beatrix Potter published some of her early work in the 1896 edition.
