This list of authors includes all those to whom we can attribute a text. Most Victorian-era journals published their articles anonymously, so identifying an author for many pieces of short fiction is extremely difficult, if not impossible. Some journals did, however, use pseudonyms. These pseudonyms are listed here so that narratives published under the same penname are grouped together, even if we do not have the author’s actual name.
