Olivia Gardner grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho, running free among wheat and potato fields encircled by the mighty Snake River. After a high school career filled year-round with sports including volleyball, basketball, and track, she travelled to Brigham Young University to further her education. She began her university career by diving into BYU's Spanish language program. After learning the basics, she traveled abroad to study in the University of Viña del Mar in Viña del Mar, Chile from July to December of 2012. Upon returning to BYU, Gardner continued to study English and Spanish Teaching, and minored in Studio Art. Her love of the humanities always brought her much joy as her subjects led her to participate in Spanish language conferences, present English papers at various symposiums, and peruse the too-often neglected treasures found in BYU's Special Collections Library. Gardner left BYU in 2014 with a determination to obtain a Master's degree in Victorian Literature.
